Stayed for one night as I was on business in the area. Chose the location as it looked like a quiet place set alongside the upper river tyne. Very welcoming on arrival took me to me room and asked if everything was OK. Ate there at night from the specials board very nice and reasonably priced, a selection of well kept ales are available all good quality. The staff and landlord were very friendly and took time to have a chat. Had to be away by 8 and excellent breakfast was on time at 7:30. Read less

We spent three nights in the b and b accommodation. Loved the rooms which were very well equipped and spacious. Plenty of hot water. Great food and service in the restaurant.We really enjoyed our stay

Delicious, generous breakfasts. Tasty, well priced evening meal. Good selection of cask beers. We loved it at The Boatside Inn!

An ideal location for our needs, spacious, pleasant well-equipped room, restaurant available for an evening meal and very friendly hosts.
Dislikes:
No. We tried to book the same room for our return journey but it was fully booked over that weekend. We plan to have a short (fishing) break there later this year.
